" She waited for her prince... "

Ira's mother Bronislava and her friends took part in conversation.

At first, i was absolutely against all publications, i nearly fainted when on that horiffic night the Israeli television crews have stuck a TV camera in my face, but now I think, that, maybe, it will stop someone...

We have arrived from Ukraine, Lugansk at August, 21, 1997. Ira very much wanted to come here - the new country, plenty of impressions. But after we moved here at first she wanted to go back. But after a while she got used, met some friends, began to study. One week ago we celebrated her 18th birthday, and she has told me, that she is glad, that we live nowhere else but in Israel and would not leave from here even if someone would promise her a gold mountains. She felt here very comfortably.

In Lugansk Ira dreamed to become a lawyer but here she lost the wish for that. There she has finished an eight grade school with two B's on her grades transcript- on physical culture and geography. Here things have gone worse - new language, different kinds of subjects contributed much for that. She has simply lost faith in herself. Recently the situation was improved. She has decided to go to serve in the army and afterwards to decide what to make out of her life. She has already received the mobilization order for July, 25, 2002.

Ira's communicated and spent her social life mainly within russian immigrants like her. I would like for her to communicate more with native Israelis but she didn't find anything in common with them. She liked only one native girl. She said that this girl wasn't prejudice toward "Russians. Though today all her "non-Russian" schoolmates visit me.

For her after me the main thing in life were friends. She was ready to move and change apartments because of friends, to change schools. She went with friends to this disco each week. We are not a rich family, so she with her girlfriend had a part time job all week to earn money for that disco.

Her closest girlfriend, Vika was injured as well. She went through a surgery and thanks God is alive.
Ira hated to be photagraphed. She was convinced that her nose too long. Everyone compared her to Christina Orbakajte (a famous Russian POP - singer) and it very much annoyed her.

Neither she nor i did not have any presentiments. She started to use make-up fairly late and have'nt learned yet how to use it properly. That night i put make- up on her myself. She always had this huge mop of hair, which she never knew how to arrange.

All of a sudden she had here such nice hairdress turned out! She left very pleased and cheerful. She has kissed me before leaving, this kiss in general was our family ritual.

I have found out all about the explosion from a friend of her who called and told me that he saw Ira and Vika laying on the ground... It now i realize that he then already knew all. Then we have gone to Abu Kabir. (the central morgue in Israel)

Irina& friends joined conversation:
